The brief

They wanted the room they'd been describing to friends for years.

White shaker cabinets and black stone counters around the perimeter, warmed up by a butcher-block island in the middle of the room. Marble-look subway tile runs the backsplash, with a single pendant over the island and under-cabinet lighting on the work walls. New tile floors finish it out.
