The brief

They wanted the room they'd been describing to friends for years.

This master bath came to us as a builder-grade beige box — corner jacuzzi, neo-angle shower, cultured-marble tops. We took it to the studs and rebuilt it around a raised walk-in shower with a pebble mosaic floor, two matte-black showerheads, a corner bench, and a sliding glass door. A freestanding tub under the window, a honey-oak double vanity, and a black crystal chandelier round out the room.
