The brief

They wanted the room they'd been describing to friends for years.

The original wood deck was worn down to peeling stain and gray boards. We rebuilt the floor and railing in Trex composite — a saddle-brown field framed by a darker border band — with crisp white rails and a new stair run to the yard. Recessed lights in the stair risers keep the steps visible after dark.
